Bicycle Helmets
Awesome video from a danish website that aims at debating the claims behind the use of helmets. I am a 100% behind them.
Thanks for keeping it real!

Mayor's Ride San Francisco to Boston 2009
I had the pleasure of meeting Martin Krieg back in May when he stopped in Sacramento on his "Guinness Book World Records" ride across America on a "Pennyfarthing" Eagle Bicycle. He'll visit 25 U.S. mayors over the 4017 mile journey to promote a national bicycle greenway.
You ask, "Pennyfarthing" Eagle Bicycle? Well, he's pedaling backwards!! The first one to cross the US since 1891. First to go West to East! First to Pedal the whole way!!! WOW!
You can follow his trip at: http://www.bikeroute.com/NationalMayorsRide2009
The amazing people at Grape Craft Wines are donating the proceeds of the sales of their Pennyfarthing Wine T'shirts to support Martin's historic ride. Get your own and join the cause.
These are the pictures from Sacramento to Folsom, during his ride through Sacramento on his way to Nevada via Tahoe.

Bike Culture in Sacramento?
With "May is Bike Month" now behind us, I feel that Sacramento has really started to establish itself with a bike culture. So where do we go from here? What else do we need to do to keep bike culture alive and kicking until next May? I am eager to keep the buzz going.
I've notice Copenhagenize.com has a page that lists 18 ways to know you have bike culture: http://www.copenhagenize.com/2007/11/18-ways-to-know-that-you-have-bicycle.html
If we were to create such a list in Sacramento, what would it say? I am interested in the discussion that this could create. So I put the challenge to everyone out there to attempt to answer the following questions: What is making bike culture in Sacramento today? If we have not gone far enough, what should we be doing to make bike culture in Sacramento? What should Sacramento do to establish itself as a "gold level" bike friendly city?
