Bespoke: The Handbuilt Bicycle Exhibit.
I am passionate about art and design!! When they are combined the results are amazing. Bespoke was an exhibit that, unfortunately, just ended in the New York's Museum of Art and Design.
The exhibit featured the design of six well renowned bicycle builders. The Bespoke Builder were:
Mike Flanigan, Alternative Needs Transportation (A.N.T.), Holliston, MA
Jeff Jones, Jeff Jones Custom Bicycles, Medford, OR
Dairo Pegoretti, Pegoretti Cicli, Caldonazzo, Italy
Richard Sachs, Richard Sachs Cycles, Warwick, MA
Peter Weigle, JP Weigle Cycles, Lyme, CT
Sacha White, Vanilla Bicycles, Portland, OR

Also, take a look at this brief slide show from Fast Company showing some of the bikes and bikes details that were part of the exhibit.
Something clever that the Museum is doing, throughout the summer you can come with your bike and pose in the MyBike photobooth. Check out the gallery: mybikemadmuseum.org

Bike Racks
By now you probably know, I'm into bike baskets. Why you asked? I don't own one and I'm on the search for the perfect one...but alas, it avoids me.
In my never ending search I found one call Bike Porter designed by Copenhagen Parts What's fun about this one is that is an integrated handlebar and basket. If you love urban slick look, the Bike Porter is definitely your choice. Click on the above link to find out more about it.
And it comes in a variety of colors.
The price is $225 and you can find it locally at Mission Bicycle Company in San Francisco.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Spring/Summer 2011 Runway
I just came accross this video of the Moncler Gamme Bleu's spring/summer 2011 presentation held at a Velodrome in Milan during Milano Moda Uomo. Love the cycling details that were incorporated to everyday men's clothing.
A huge venue for a fashion show but it's given me inspiration for my Vélo & Vintage Fashion Show next year. Time to get to the drawing board.

Guest Post: Vintage Sunday
I love Sacramento. It's true. And in that love, fashion & supporting local are paramount to me. What better way to support local than to ride about the city on bikes, dressed like vintage lovin' ladies, having brunch at a local bistro & greeting passers-by with a ring of the bell and a wave? I admit, we were a bit of a spectacle, but I'm happy to report, I'm seeing more & more lovely midtowners out in their best on a bike.
One's bicycle is a very personal thing - mine has a name. It's a splendid thing to be out and about around Sacramento on a crisp Sunday morning, and being on my bike makes it so much more so. On a recent beautiful Sunday morning, my friend Jeannine and I decided to take our best girls, Julep (her minty green cruiser) & Holly (my blue vintage Schwinn) out for a ride. This particular ride felt especially sweet, as I have recently moved far from my beloved Midtown, and this was my first trip back. We had a grande ole time dressed up vintage & fun in our dresses & heels. And bonus - it's actually easier to bike in heels than not!

I shop all vintage, secondhand and LOCAL, and write a blog to that effect. So here's a little look at my style, my bike, my beautiful friend, and our ride. Hope you find yourself on such a perfect day, out supporting local in style on your bike.

Love & The Bicycle
Courting with a Bicycle from Jim Kellett on Vimeo.
I was a witness of such love & bicycle display here in town. Although, I must say, the young man was clearly unprepared given that he was sans his bicycle.
Nevertheless, he was not discouraged and kept up with her. ;)

Do You Come With A Lot of Baggage? ;)
I have the perfect solution for them. In my usual morning reading of all my fellow bike bloggers; I found something brilliant at Change Your Life Ride a Bike blog, in the subject of baggage.
If you are a car free person, life myself, you have to think of clever ways to carry around your "baggage" Adrienne, obviously a pretty crafty gal, came up with this idea to carry her camera equipment around and I'm completely in love with it! ♥
Check out the pictures below and read the rest of the story: Baggage. We all have it
