I love Sacramento. It's true. And in that love, fashion & supporting local are paramount to me. What better way to support local than to ride about the city on bikes, dressed like vintage lovin' ladies, having brunch at a local bistro & greeting passers-by with a ring of the bell and a wave? I admit, we were a bit of a spectacle, but I'm happy to report, I'm seeing more & more lovely midtowners out in their best on a bike.

| Jeannine and her Julep |
One's bicycle is a very personal thing - mine has a name. It's a splendid thing to be out and about around Sacramento on a crisp Sunday morning, and being on my bike makes it so much more so. On a recent beautiful Sunday morning, my friend Jeannine and I decided to take our best girls, Julep (her minty green cruiser) & Holly (my blue vintage Schwinn) out for a ride. This particular ride felt especially sweet, as I have recently moved far from my beloved Midtown, and this was my first trip back. We had a grande ole time dressed up vintage & fun in our dresses & heels. And bonus - it's actually easier to bike in heels than not!

I shop all vintage, secondhand and LOCAL, and write a
blog to that effect. So here's a little look at my style, my bike, my beautiful friend, and our ride. Hope you find yourself on such a perfect day, out supporting local in style on your bike.

Lovely. You are certainly beautifying the city.
Fantastic photos! Looks like so much fun. I can almost hear the bell ringing now. I've just discovered that heels unlike wedges make perfect biking shoes. I guess they don't call them pumps for nothin'.
Kari,
