Bikes as Psychedelic Art

The Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) has invited artist to respond to their annual fundraising gala's "Psychedelic" theme by customizing designer items donated to the organization.  One of the contributor,  it's Velorution - a London-based cycling store.

Our very own, Tricia Hedahl - Executive Director for the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA) receiving the "Bicycle Friendly Business Award" (Bronze Level) on behalf of Hot Italian during the "League of American Bicyclist"  National Bike Summit today.

Bicycle Friendly Business Award to Hot Italian

My favorite pizza restaurant in Midtown Sacramento:  Hot Italian has just been awarded the "Bicycle Friendly Business Award" (Bronze level) today by the League of American Bicyclist in Washington, D.C., the first ever California restaurant to be achieved this standing.

From the Hot Italian Press Release:

The Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) program recognizes employers’ efforts to encourage a more bicycle friendly atmosphere for employees and customers. The program honors innovative bike-friendly efforts and provides technical assistance and information to help companies and organizations become even better for bicyclists. This new initiative complements the League’s Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) program, which has been recognizing cities and towns for their bicycle friendliness since 2003.

HOT ITALIAN provides bicycle parking for 32 bikes on-site, sponsors a bike club and a bike team, hosts the Savage Sprints Series, Velo & Vintage, the bicycle fashion show, and HOT ITALIAN Creative Director + Founder Andrea Lepore was co-chair of last year’s May Is Bike Month. HOT ITALIAN produced the Bicycle Film Festival in Sacramento for the first time in the international festival’s 10-year history and will be bringing it back to town from NYC this year on May 12-14, 2011 at Fremont Park.

This video has it all.  Great music, very attractive people in it, bike stunts, romance, humor, terrific dialog with some very funny lines, danger and even a mad bull...and I almost forgot...the best "wink" in movie history...along with chic clothes for the period!

I remember seeing this a s a 1st run movie with my than honey, now wife, when it first hit the theaters!   Loved it than, love it now.
