I have great admiration for the man behind our thriving bicycle culture and budding bicycle infrastructure. Edward Cox is the city of Sacramento's Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator.
Ed can be seen around town on his High Wheeler or Penny-Farthing, a bike with a large front wheel and a much smaller rear wheel that was popular in the 1880's. They were the first machines to be called "bicycles."
Ed arrives at all of our local events in his beloved Penny-Farthing, including the opening of the California State Fair, where he made his roundtrip from City Hall to Cal Expo via the American River Parkway.
Here is a picture of his Penny-Farthing "parked" in front of City Hall.
Thanks Ed for all your hard work and support!!
